Why I Ride

Some Deep Thoughts from New Belgium co-workers on why they ride.

Like seagrass, the wind blows me every which way in my life... I love the experience that offers, but also love the feeling of BALANCE I get when I get on my bike...

Bicycles smell better!

I like to ride to commune with the flora and fauna.

To keep the beer gut slight and the ass lookin tight!!

...because that's how I roll!
...because I sold my gas guzzlin suv
...because I like to be more connected to my environment and surroundings
...because it just feels good!

In the winter, no windshield to scrape

Because its too difficult to jump a car.

I love high velocity and moments of absolute zen. Floating over rock fields and sticking tight corners. Becoming one with my bike, when the ride is all there is.

I ride because my troubles can't catch me when I'm on two wheels.

Riding gives me a reason to show off my freshly shaven legs.
Because I can't pop a wheelie in my car.

When civilization falls, global warming peaks, fossil fuels are gone, and you say "why didn't I just ride my bike?", you will be too out of shape and get eaten by wolves. Ride now to avoid the wolves later.

I ride cause it is like a peal for your soul, it keeps you alive, reminds you what the world smells like, sounds like, and lives in balance. Balance is a metaphor for all things duality for me- up/ down, yin/yang, right/left- heaven/ hell, light/ dark and lets us not forget magnetics, electricity, and the simple, beautiful way men and women when attached create children, the little people that will inherit this world when we leave. I think I am going to go for a ride with my son.

I ride because it takes just about as long to drive 5 miles through town and park. It's quieter, cheaper, less stressful on the back streets, good for me, good for the environment and it's great "think time". Finally, I just love to ride my bike!

One time a mother goose flew after me while I rode bike down by the river in the springtime. Now that's fun! I've never been chased by a mother goose while driving a car.

I ride because it is like a movie I make by moving my legs.

Don’t burn gas, burn calories. Never pay to park. Never circle the block looking for a parking spot. The closest I ever get to a parking meter is with my bike lock No gas, no insurance, no registration, no plates, no traffic. I can keep my spare tire folded up in by bag, instead of around my waste. Traffic? Not on the trails! It keeps my legs lookin’ sexy! No windows to scrape!

The sunrise, crisp morning air and a good workout puts a smile on my face everyday I ride.

Riding by bumper to bumper traffic will make any rider smile.

It is cheaper than paying for a gym membership to keep your buns in shape!

i ride so i don't forget what it feels like to be young and inspired

I ride to breathe the fresh air as I watch the sky become art and I become one with nature.

To fight war, bad government, global warming, corporate greed and monster trucks.
